Canopus can perform not only nearly automatic astrometry but photometry for lightcurve work as well. Using the lightcurve wizard, one can measure images at a rate of hundreds an hour. It's not uncommon to start working with a night's run of 150 or more images and have them measured and a preliminary lightcurve determined in less than 20 minutes.
